Lessons

Training | Competition

We love to teach!  Our preferred student is any age over 5, and at any level.  Pre-requisites are a sincere desire to learn, and a passion for riding and horses.

You can ride your own horse, or one of our school horses.  School horses are available at a variety of levels.

Goal setting is an important part of our philosophy of growth and achievement.  You can read through the Goals Journal on this website.  We strive to meet with all students and horse owners periodically to discuss their goals and plans.

Schedule

Scheduling is done on an individual basis.  Please contact us for available times and prices.  We highly recommend making a commitment to a regular lesson schedule, and taking lunge lessons as often as possible to improve your seat.

The schedule changes seasonally, and occasionally for shows or other events, so please check with us to get the latest lesson times.

Morning schedule (Tuesday - Friday):

9:00 AM Group
9:45 AM Private
10:30 AM Private

Afternoon/Evening schedule (Tuesday - Friday):

4:15 PM Children's Group
5:15 PM Group or Private
6:00 PM Group or Private
7:30 PM Group or Private (during Daylight Savings Time only)

Weekend Schedule:

9:00 AM - 4:30 PM By appointment

Prices and Responsibilities

  • Private lessons - $50 (on school horses, or for those trailering in)
  • Group lessons - $35 (on school horses, or for those trailering in)
  • Lunge lessons - $50 (on school horses, or for those trailering in)

Group and Private lessons are 45 minutes long.  Lunge lessons last 30 minutes (they are intense).  Lunge lessons are valuable, and are available to riders of all levels who wish to improve their seat and position.

If you schedule a lesson on a school horse please arrive AT  LEAST 20 minutes prior to your lesson start time, and plan for 30 minutes after the lesson ends to care for your horse.  We firmly believe that learning to groom and tack up is an important part of your relationship with the horse.

Payment may be made for each individual lesson, or for a "block" of lessons.  There is a box provided for checks in the grooming area.

Attire and Equipment

For beginners, leggings and some kind of boot with a heel (not cowboy boot) will do.  However, it is MUCH easier to ride in riding pants, and tall boots (or paddock boots with half chaps).

Cancellations

Please be courteous, and call well in advance when you must cancel (group as well as private lessons).  We must schedule the school horses as well as our time.
